FRANCES RAPPORT is Professor of Qualitative Health Research, Director of the Qualitative Research Unit and Director of Qualitative Enquiry Supporting Trials at Swansea University’s College of Medicine at The Institute of Life Science. She has Visiting Professorships at: Harvard University, Texas University, Bournemouth University, Tromsø University, and King Abdulaziz University. Frances has secured grant capture in excess of five and a half million pounds, published over 75 journal articles, 3 books and 3 book chapters. In 2007 Professor Rapport won an American Anthropological Association Award for ethnographic poetic representations of Holocaust survivor testimony. As Cultural Attaché for the College, Frances applies arts-based and narrative-based techniques to her work, securing a Writers Residency for the College of Medicine in Jan 2013, funded by the St David’s Medical Foundation. She runs an annual Master Class Programme in ‘New Qualitative Methodologies’ in Swansea.
MARCUS DOEL is Professor of Human Geography, Co-Director of the Centre for Urban Theory, Deputy Head of the College of Science, and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Swansea University. His areas of expertise include Social and Spatial Theory, Urban Imaginaries, Cinematic Cities, and Consumer Culture. He has published 7 books, over 50 journal articles, and over 40 book chapters. He sits on the Editorial Boards of 2 international journals: Society & Space and the Journal of Baudrillard Studies
